about in the past where governor romney says that chrysler is going to make jeeps in china, and the president says that the ceos of these companies have asked governor romney to stop making the ad and that governor romney is trying to scare people. the president's top two advisors came to talk to the press and said this is back-firing on governor romney and people here don't like it. it is on the covers of some newspapers around the state. no evidence that's showing up in the polls, though, so we have to see how that plays out but they are betting big that the bailout is going to pull out an ohio win for them. we'll see. >> all right. jessica, thanks. jim, thanks as well. >>> joining me now, cnn political analysts gloria borger, david gergen and chief national correspondent, john king. john, the campaigns say they are ready for late night waiting for ohio returns. what do the latest polls tell us? >> if you look at our new poll today, it tells you the campaigns are right. we've got essentially a dead heat. the president has a 50% to 47% for governor romney lead among likely

and when the president talks about he add aid new line to his speech today -- as recovered while chrysler said they weren't selling jeeps in china. those are jeeps for the chinese market. they are not taking jobs from the u.s. to do that, and so the president is accusing romney of being misleading. the romney campaign, you know, argues the facts are not misrepresentative. the crowd goes nuts when he said that today, and really went wild over it. he is getting a warm reception wherever he goes. these are clearly democratic crowds. >> on his assessment there, it's not a real representation of everybody there. thanks. we'll be getting back to you, and we'll bring this to you live as soon as the event starts. >>> earlier today mitt romney held a campaign rally in another swing state, wisconsin. romney told the crowd he is going to work for day one to get americans back to work. he blamed the president's policies for the state of the economy. he said a president has failed to deliver on the promises he made four years ago, like his promise to reach across the aisle and work with republicans. >
jeeps to the united states. so jeep chrysler came out, fiat, the company, they said, absolutely wrong. general motors, have you ever heard of a company which has got a deal with whoever the next president is, come out and scold the presidential candidate the way there is. everybody we talked to says mitt romney is flat out wrong on this. and, again, we're puzzled that he would do that. he's competitive in ohio. this is a dead heat. statistically a dead heat between romney and obama. very puzzling to hear how this is going over here. >> and just to add to that, the swing voters we're talking to here, there is a sense that this issue resonated. the front pages, the local newspaper here is about romney on the auto industry. >> people are mad. >> and it is registering as an unforced error. people take it very personally here, their jobs, their local economy is connected to the auto bailout and stimulus package according to the mayor here. >> yeah. and, john, listen, the president has a tough sell. it may be an easier sell for mitt romney and the reason i say that is because when everyone
